Dear Mark, What can I say?! You are the best. Your training is SUPERB! We learned so much from you! And the way you do it! Your love of animals is unbelievable - you saved my life! I really mean this - We are all so much happier!
Hi Mark, The days fly by and I wanted to share some things with you. We haven't talked in a while and I miss that. I know that you are working with many clients from the Verde Valley. You should be "one proud man" because all that comes back to me is praise and thanks for your work. Never a negative word has been said. Sincerely, Cyndi Dear Mark,
As far as we’re concerned, you saved a life. You did a presentation for the members of the Verde Valley Humane Society back in November that was absolutely amazing. We can’t thank you enough for all you did.
Before the presentation, we spoke to you about a young dog that had been impounded at the shelter. We named him Charlie. Although he was very friendly, he refused to be placed on a leash or even wear a collar.
The idea of anyone taking him out of the kennel for a possible adoption was out of the question. You very kindly said that we could crate Charlie and ring him to the presentation.
Charlie’s behavior caused him to be termed “unadoptable” which meant he stood no chance at getting a new home. His only hope for a good life was “AZ’s Dog Whisperer.”
We brought Charlie ahead of time that night for you to observe his behavior. You explained to us that you would work with him a bit before the presentation and then work with him during the breaks.
We got busy preparing for the crowd as you went outside to where Charlie was crated. About 20 minutes later before we began for the evening, we all went outside for a break. As we looked for you, there you were with Charlie at your side. Charlie was on a leash! You then began walking him and there he was right at your side.
After you walked Charlie in the parking lot, you came up and showed us how to control him. Our approach had been all wrong. Our method of coaxing and babying him continued to let him be the one in control. You taught us to be the “people” and to teach him to be the “dog”.
We can’t thank you enough, Mark! The following Monday, Charlie was adopted!
Sincerely,
Jill Mahoney

Mark,
Thank you for coming into our home and our lives. There is an enormous amount of information regarding dogs and how to live with multiple dogs in harmony. I am so thankful that I was lead to your website. I have always said that my dog was the person I wanted to become. I have learned so much about myself the past couple of week ends.
Thank you for sharing your time, knowledge and insight. I have so much to practice and learn. I am grateful for this wonderful start. My dogs are now a joy to be around and some day with patience they will feel the same way about me.
Thank you, Jeanne Patera Mark,
Your presentation was great yesterday – the seminar went extremely well!
Below are a few of the written comments from our homeschool thread. I also ran into another mom today who verbally expressed her appreciation for your instruction. And our neighbor passed on that his mother (the lady w/the black German shepherd) had raved about your seminar.
“Thank you for planning a fantastic morning with Arizona's Dog Whisperer. It was very informative and helpful.”
“I agree - it was great. I learned a lot”
“We loved it also. I went out and got the gentle leader and we started right away with the retraining process for both our dogs. We got so much good information and we definitely have a "new attitude" about being the leader of the pack. There were so many concrete ideas that we came away with that made this a very valuable 2 hours.”
I think everyone who attended went away with concrete things they can apply with their family dogs. And the comment from Roxanne with “Moose” says it all: You addressed the person directly instead of focusing on the animal.
Thank you for coming to Flagstaff, Mark.
In appreciation,
Channon Balkan
P.S. I’m attaching some pictures. I like the one of the little girl in red as she takes the proper position when a strange dog approaches.
P.P.S. We took our evening family walk and used the gentle leader with total success! There was the initial struggle that you prepared me for, but Afton soon settled into the perfect gate by my side (or next to whomever was leading her – even our youngest, rather timid girl!). And I look forward to getting the next helpful tool – the backpack which I will fill with water bottles to make the most out of my shorter morning walk. Again, practical help for living the “suburban life” with a beloved dog.
“Thanks for setting up the dog behavior seminar. We loved it!
We started our "new dog life" w/ walking our dog, Mocha, before
feeding her. We walked her ( went out to smell and forage for food), let her rest after the walk,
and then set down her food.
We haven't got the new leash yet but that is next on the list.
After the seminar, on the way home, we saw so many dogs out for walks!
We were noticing that most of the owners were letting the dog lead way out in front! They need to go to Mr. German's seminar!
Thanks,
The Parks family (and Mocha)”
“I wanted to add my words of encouragement. We have a gulper and I put the rock in the middle of his bowl which has slowed down his eating. I've watched enough of Cesar to master walking our dogs. Today, I finally put our 2 dogs on the treadmill with success in less than 2 mins each. I'm looking forward to dealing with car rides and thunder. Mark reinforced a few things and even said a few things that I haven't seen Cesar cover yet.
Arminio family”
“We enjoyed the dog seminar very much. Even though we don't have a dog, we learned how to approach a dog and how to behave around a dog. We also learned the reasons not to get a dog! And if we get one, what to expect. Thank you!

Dear Mark ~ I've gone back onto internet/e-mail mainly so I can communicate with you more easily. I had divorced myself from the computer! I'm so glad I took Ginger and me to the dog walk yesterday (I wasn't going because I was tired from activities of the day before) ~my inner voice told me it was a MUST. And guess what ~ it was a breakthrough. It is awesome to witness all those dogs together and Ginger in the midst ~ in her kingdom. I let go of my fear yesterday. Later in the day we went for a long walk - it was the best ever. And again this morning. I want to take her to the square soon. Is there advice you can give me? Anything I need to be aware of? Is there a chance that you could meet me there once and walk with me and Ginger? I do feel we've come a long way and I am indebted to you.
You know, I think she's older than all previous estimates. One clue: she doesn't want to eat in the morning at all. I was feeding her twice a day and now she walks away from her food. And it's good food! Chicken Soup... with a fresh meat supplement & mixture of veg. oil, healthy powder(yeast, lethicin., bonemeal ,kelp) ~ a recipe from Dr. Pitcairn's guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats. She takes her NU-VET tab and walks away.
Thanks again for yesterday , and all the yesterdays, plus all the tomorrows that I can count on your help. I never saw Ginger collapse on the car seat as she did yesterday on the way home. She stayed prone all the way back! Either emotional exhaustion? or dreaming of her nirvana of dogdom? Whatever ~ it was a most wonderful day for both of us. And I thank you.
Love, Marcella
